What are the training needs for carers of older adults?

The GRandis consortium met in Dublin in November to approve the needs analysis led by Dr Buckingham from Aston University.

GRandis is a partner of GRaCE-AGE seeking to develop education and training materials for use by older people and their carers, to help them use technology to improve their lives when living at home - a crucial activity to increase adoption of technologies like GRaCE-AGE.

Approval of the needs analysis marks the completion of the framework for the project, by establishing the requirements for a vocational and educational training syllabus for carers of older adults in the community; as well as for the technology support that will be needed by the older adults themselves.

In addition, the meeting initiated the second main activity of the GRandis project: the design of the training modules and their contents.
