myGRiST FAQs

Q) myGRiST software does not load. Instead, I get a message saying "You do not seem to have Java installed..."

A) myGRiST needs Java to be installed on the computer before it can work. Please download and install the latest version from java.com/en/download
After Java has been installed, close all your browser windows(restart your browser) and try myGRiST again.

Q) Which browser should I use?

A) We recommend Firefox, Chrome, or Opera, but most browsers
apart from Internet Explorer conform consistently to web standards and so are more
likely to behave properly with GRiST. If you do wish to use Internet Explorer, then any version from IE7 upwards should also work.

Q) myGRiST starts but then shows an error saying "Could not connect to the server"

A) Locate the "Retry" button next to the error and message and click it.
If the problem persists, follow these instructions

  1. Close all browser windows
  2. Go to Control Panel > Java and click on the "Advanced" tab. Select "Show console" and click OK.
  3. Open your browser and start myGRiST. A window titled "Java Console" should pop up.
  4. Try clicking on Retry button few times if myGRiST keeps shows the error message "Could not connect to the server"
  5. Go to Java Console window and copy everything inside(by selecting everything with Ctrl+A then copying with Ctrl+C) and send it to us  in a message from this page.
